It's an Ilyushin Il-18 (NATO reporting name "CANDID"), manufactured in the former USSR
from the late 1950s to (I think) early 1970s. Basically a medium-range turboprop airliner. Also used as the basis for a maritime patrol a/c, whose reporting name escapes me exactly right now, but I think might be "COOT".
These a/c were exported extensively to Comecon countries, also throughout the Middle East & Africa. Basically in the same class as the Electra & Vanguard. The Britannia was about the same size but had much longer legs.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
