SAA Airlink Fleet Changes?

Mon Jul 10, 2006 1:42 am

Hi, So 737-200 and Fokker 28 are operating as supplemental aircraft for SA Airlink to some areas in south africa. Just wondering if anyone knew when these two aircraft along with the DC9 are due to leave the fleet? Thanks in advance.

Although Airlink operates flights with the SA designator, they no longer operate as SA Airlink, just as Airlink. IIRC Airlink are operating 732's on routes such as JNB-TNR-JNB. The rest of their fleet consists of J41's and ERJ135's.

SA Express Airways operate F28 and DC9 aircraft, alongside with their DH8, DH4 and CRJ200-BER fleet. I am not sure when the DC9 and F28 are due to leave SA Express Airways - the F28 and DC9 seem to be loaded in the SA system for quite a while. In fact, I am booked on the F28 to JNB, next week Friday.

Ok so South African Express F28 are going to be around for the foreseeable future! Can anyone help with the registration codes of those which are currently in service?

Many thanks again Big grin

To my knowledge, SA Express Airways only has 1x F28-4000 in service (on lease from Air Aquarius). Her registration number is ZS-JES (Jessica). She mainly operates on the JNB-BFN-JNB and JNB-GRJ-JNB routes. I think that she may be leaving the SA Express Airways fleet once the second DH8-Q400 is delivered. According to the SA Express inflight magazine, Indwe, the Q400's are earmarked to operate exclusively on the JNB-BFN-JNB and JNB-GRJ-JNB routes.

It is SA Express Airways. I can't find the rego, but I think it is on lease from Executive Aerospace. However, I may be wrong.
