Jetstar Asia goes in brand shake-up
The name Jetstar Asia nolonger exists, after the airline merged its brand with Jetstar. The move is part of a broad strategy for Jetstar to gain critical
mass in Asia, where Jetstar Asia operates from Singapore to eight destinations.
Jetstar Asia, 49 per cent Qantas-owned, has also merged its website with Jetstar and will update its aircraft livery.
Jetstar group general manager commercial Bruce Buchanan said the change will increase brand awareness and deliver a consistent message to consumers
as it moved into long-haul destinations. Buchanan said it would also make it easier for travel agents to sell Jetstar, saving them time explaining to customers the difference between the two airlines. “We want to expand our footprint in Asia,” he said.
Jetstar has also received provisional approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to integrate the two airline networks.
