Odd Sighting At BUF- ATA 752

Mon Jul 10, 2006 9:34 am

This morning when I went to pick up my friend's father from BUF there was a ATA 752 (N518AT) at gate one. Was this a charter flight, and if so, anybody have any info on it?

Inbound flight: ATA6116 from DEN
Outbound flight: ATA 7019 to NGU

Sounds like Military charter to me ... especially NGU.

ATA does a ton of troop movements.

Why would there be a troop movement from BUF though, esp with the Air Base 5 miles away at IAG?

It may have been a commercial charter in to BUF followed by a ferry flight out to NGU; however, I can't remember the ATA flight numbering scheme at the moment -- it's been too long.

N519AT was at Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) yesterday. This 757 came in from Davis-Monthan AFB in CA and after three hours on the ground went down to Biloxi, Mississippi. Like the BUF example, this was a troop charter (returning ones, not deploying ones)

I believe ATA flight numbers go like this:

4000 series: scheduled
5000 series: charter
6000 series: were Ambassadair flights when we owned them...not too sure now...still might be
7000 series: non-revenue mx ferry or positioning
8000 series: military
