Did Lufthansa Ever Own Any 757s Or 767s?

Wed Jul 12, 2006 2:08 pm

They are not listed as part of the airline’s fleet on their site http://konzern.lufthansa.com/en/html/ueber_uns/flotte/index.html
http://www.lufthansa-financials.de/s...vlet/PB/menu/1014422_l2/index.html but I’ve seen photos on a few sites (including this one) of what purport to be those model planes operated by the German carrier. One of these sites state the 767 was leased from Lauda Air http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.php?id=94099
and that company’s site mentions operating 767s in conjunction with Luftansa http://www.laudaair.com/site/index.php?id=20&L=1 . A 2000 Boeing press release indicates that Lufthansa operates 757s http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2000/news_release_000203a.html

Perhaps they sold off their 757s and 767s. In that case can anybody tell me when they first order and / or received those models. Answers with a link are a plus.

Thanks in advance

Looks like they operated three 767's:

But no record of any 757's.

Why grab a Heine when you can grab a Busch?

The Condor 757s/767s have the Lufthansa customer code, they are 757-330s and 767-330s.
LH leased in the early 90s some of Condors 767s for the Australia route and before the A330s were delivered to Lauda Air aircrafts. While the Condor aircrafts wear the Lufthansa colors the Lauda Air 767s wear Star Alliance colors.
LH was trying out the 757-330 from Condor as a A300 replacement but were not satisfied with it in that role.
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

Condor, as part of the LH group, still operates 767 and 757s.

LH operated some 767s on schedulked flights, some from Condor and some Lauda aircraft.

They tested the 753 on domestic routes as a AB6 replacement but the single aisle tube failed the test.
