B Nice To Flight Attendants

Thu Jun 22, 2000 2:56 pm

A good friend of mine is an FA on a major airline and damn, I never knew the rotten stuff they do to rowdy or mean passengers. They best way to get back at a mean passenger is to put Visine (eye drops) in thier drink, She said it is a "Turbo Laxitive", the passenger would be busy for the whole trip on the can! That was one of many stories which grossed me out. I hope I'm not mean to any FAs anymore, could you imagine being on the shitter the remainder of the flight!

I have heard of some bar tenders doing that Visine trick also if they don't get tipped. All hell is going to break loose if a flight attendent gets busted for doing that. Although, nothing these days really surprises me.

On the other hand: some pax really deserve it!!

I have heard about an F/A at SR. This happened shortly after the SR111 crash. A pax said to that F/A, that it is a pitty, that she wasn't on SR111 !!!!!! In my opinion, this PAX deserves more than only passing the whole trip on the shitter, no matter, what the F/A has done.

Just Be Nice To Everyone!

What did the passenger do to deserve 'visine' in the drink in the first place? Personally I wouldn't and couldn't do that to anyone. If a passenger is perceived by the crew to be getting out of hand or is indeed being rude or obnoxious in perhaps demanding drinks, then there is a policy of 'Duty of Care' that we follow. This DOES NOT include tampering with the pax' next drink! As the providers of liquor onboard, the crew have the right to deny further alcohol if necessary in order to ensure the pax arrives safely at his or her destination -and for the comfort and safety of other pax and crew.
But I have digressed. There are plenty of stories that circulate in the galleys among crew purportedly to have occurred somewhere to get even with an obnoxious pax. These days I think they are just that, stories. In my eleven years of flying I've never seen "revenge" sought on a pax other than verbally in the galley. It's a good way of letting off steam.
That said..........just be nice anyway!!!!

Better One.

That is bad, but I've seen several flight attendants accidentally on purpose spill a cup of hot coffee is people's laps. The ones who get it are usually the arrogant business executive who complains because he had to sit in the Main Cabin, instead of in First.
Aviation is proof that, given the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible.
