I was with PSA very briefly a few months ago and quit because I couldn't stand the company. In typical US Airways fashion the management is patriarchal and arrogant. The only way to be noticed is to be part of the "good ole' boys". There is no room for individualism or expression. Hopefully HP's relaxed style will end that. When people at PSA talked about the merger I noticed they would get a little nervous. I think they know the suit-and-tie days are coming to an end.

HP's style will end that, but it will take time. Enough time for those types to all retire, because their unions are just too strong, and misguided. So it will be a gradual process.

Rumors are that PSA is locating all major maintenance to CLT and that DAY will eventually close, at least that was the rumor when I was there. I know they were also talking about closing DAY as a crew base as well.

I know of HP's style, but they're also very cheap. Look at how many new EAS routes Mesa has applied for recently.
Quoting A330323X (Reply 9):
Er, care to explain what exactly Air Midwest applying for EAS routes has to do with HP being cheap?
Quoting USPIT10L (Reply 10):
I could've sworn Ornstein wanted out of the EAS/BE1 game completely a few years ago. What made Mesa change their minds?
Quoting A330323X (Reply 12):
He wanted to stop losing millions of dollars on their BE1 ops, which they've done, by restructuring their route system and slashing their fleet in half. Air Midwest should be profitable by the end of this year.
And I still don't see what that has to do with HP being cheap.

Well, I've heard that CLT was a nice place to live....
Quoting OlegShv (Reply 20):
I was wondering if there is a good place for spotting in DAY.
Quoting We're Nuts (Reply 22):
has a ridiculously large airport so spotting is tough, but when the winds are right there is one place I found. Take Dixie Dr. going north and you'll find some good spots to pull over and watch planes land.
