Tue Jul 18, 2006 10:01 am

Can anyone explain to me the differences of envoy class on US Airways A330 and 767, I have flown on the A330 in envoy, and i know that the 767 doesnt have on demand movies, and no powerports, but are there any other differences? also if anyone has any photos, that would do a lot!

Im flying to DUB at the end of the month in the first row, so any helpw ould be great!

Thanks for any help

---- I Have searched this website, and the trip reports and photos, and did not see anything discussing this topic, any help would be great!

It was two years ago when I did Envoy on the 767, I flew PHL-CDG and on the way back I flew the A330.

The 767 was a bit run down inside. The seats didn't lie as flat as on the A330 if I remember correctly. The service was great etc but it was no where NEAR as comfy as the A330. The television screen was smaller, no OnDemand movies and we didn't get the BOSE noise cancelling headsets....in fact they didn't even give us amenity kits on the 767 flight.

the 767's will get a complete interior upgrade that will be finished on all 10 767's by next summer. the will have new business class seats a totaly new entertainment system. new interiors , new lavs , new seats in economy, new overhead bins, new everything. i think the company is going to 777 style interior like the way continental has their 767's

When do delivery start of the 332s [10 aircrafts???] for US, will they replace some of the 762s on a one to one basis, if not what frequencies is US Airways expected to open up.

I don't think we are going that all out..lol. They told us the Envoy cabin will be overhauled with new seats and entertainment, etc. The coach cabin as far as I know is going to get new seat *covers*...I have no idea about the overheads...I would guess not new ones, but I could be wrong.

I think that US cancelled the A330-200 orders in favor for the A350 orders?

I just heard the Envoy upgrade will include 63" pitch Flat Beds and new IFE's. Coach will be re-covered as previously mentioned . Don't know how they could do new IFE in coach unless they replaced all of the seat backs. I would assume this upgrade would result in less Envoy seats, unless (in the unlikely event) they removed a row of coach. Should make US a lot more competitive on the 767 TA routes.

No we are still getting the 200's. Since the A350 is delayed, they are working with Airbus to see what's up. They said Airbus should be contacting them in a couple of weeks.

Someone in the webcast asked about the upgrades to the 767's. It's new seats in Envoy...lay flat with 8" more leg room. I would assume that means less seats as well. New entertainment systems, recover the coach seats, and updating the overhead bins and sidewalls. They actually said "cleaning them up" so I'm not sure what that means.

I've never been on a US 767 but will love to see it when they are done. They are supposed to start next summer when the planes are in C check.

I was just on one and they aren't really special. Nor are they as bad as some people make them out to be. They are definitely more comfortable, and nicer, than our old HP 757s and 733s.
