I fly the AKL
route quit a bit on QANTAS. the flight is codeshared with AA
, I have always wondered if it is the same price on all the different airlines. this is what I found out:
nov.1st. and QF25 AKL
nov.9th. (I choose those dates for this search because they are in the distance, but not to close to the holidays)
PRICE: $1196.79 USD (round trip)
7302 codeshared with QF25 nov. 1st. LAX
and BA7303 codeshared with QF25 nov.9th. AKL
PRICE: 1737.79 (round trip)
7337 codeshared with QF25 nov. 1st. LAX
and AA7315 codeshared with QF25 nov.9th. AKL
PRICE: $1226.80 USD (round trip)
these prices are all after tax. so you can see that Qantas would be the better deal, since its the cheapest and it would just be easier to deal with the airline that you are traveling on.
on other question:
Why does the tax prices vary on the different carriers?
Qantas is at $208.79USD
is at $188.79USD
is at $58.80USD
there is alot of difference in there. it could be because Qantas and BA
are from different countries so their tax levels are different, but still its the same flight. I would think that could play an advatage to AA
or any American airline, their fares COULD look lower going international then the overseas airlines.
