Sun Country Finds New Ownership

Fri Jul 21, 2006 3:17 pm

Sun Country has been sold to a group of investors within the MSP area. This has been talked about for a few months, but now it is official. It will be interesting to see how Sun Country, a now profitable low cost carrier, will operate under new ownership.

What's the likelyhood of a Sun Country expansion due to the sale? Any possibility of seeing some smaller aircraft (E90/E75?)? Another hub?

What are the possibilities?

Do they compete with NW or just stay out of the way?

They definitely compete. NW turned the screws to Sun Country after they shifted from vacation flying to scheduled 121.
