I thought ANA already flew to SYD - do they not? Well they used to anyway. I think that if they don't fly here, they will soon. Good connections to NZ flights aswell.
Quoting VHVXB (Reply 3):
The NZ connections would be good but don't JL or NZ fly to Japan direct??
Quoting ETA Unknown (Reply 8):
their staff in-fighting was always a pleasure to watch at many an industry social function!!!
Quoting Ktachiya (Reply 9):
there is an ANA hotel in the Gold Coast

Hmm... JL 761 is from NRT-BNE, this is a daily service. Currently they have like their B747-200B deployed on this route. But I think in the high season, it goes up to a B744. JL 771 is from NRT-SYD and flown with a B744. KIX-BNE-SYD-KIX is currently daily and operated with B743 from Jalways. So it makes it 21 times a week to oz from Japan on a Japanese airline.

I think once jetstar Intl is introduced there will be very little of QF in Japan.
Quoting Cedarjet (Reply 14):
So why is Japan such a low yield destination?
Quoting Laxintl (Reply 15):
Mostly Japanese tourist whom visit Australia.
Not as bad as Japan-Hawaii, however traffic is predominately lower yield leisure traffic. Eventough Japan-Australia are major trade partners there is limited premium demand.

Is there not a huge ANA hotel in Sydney, right on Circular Quay? The cocktail lounge on the very top floor (40?) was ace, haven't been there for a while but I'm sure it's still been the ANA Sydney when I've been past.
