Avro RJX

Fri Jun 23, 2000 12:00 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Avro RJX- I saw an ad for it in the current issue of Pro Pilot Magazine, and was surprised that the ad claimed it would be avaliable next year, yet I've heard nothing about it. What's its range, speed, payload etc? Thanks.

The Avro RJX is nothing more than an improved Avro RJ. It has Alliedsignal AS977 turbofan engines instead of the Alliedsignal LF507 turbofans used on the Avro RJ. These engines are more fuel efficient, resulting in a range increase of about 15%. The empty weight has been reduced by 220 to 340 kg depending on the type (RJX70, RJX85 or RJX100) and new avionics have been installed.
