Virgin Atlantic to China?

Sat Feb 20, 1999 1:13 am

Iain, is VA looking to open a route to China with a 747-200 or 400. I got that impression from your post on Virgin to EWR and IAD.

As far as I know, Virgin received authorization to operate London - Shangai. But, I don't heard that they have already announced when to start, which plane to be used and with which frequency.
I hope I helped.

I don't think there is enough demand between China (excluding HK) and Great Britian. So even Virgin gets the rights to certain cities in China, it won't implement it.

Well Virgin got that route and BA lost it. And I think they will be flying a 747-200 as the 747-400 are used on more of the popular routes with the 340 like:
LHR LAX
LHR JFK.
