It doesn't help that the bottom of the seat moves forward when you recline, further reducing for pitch.

The service of the A340-600 is as great as any other CX flight. Ring the call bell and an attendant is at your side in 2 min, in economy. The dimming lights are neat. I haven't flown the JFK-HKG route on CX, only LAX-HKG back when the aircraft was first introduced.

I think the B747's have more legroom.
What is it? It's A 747-400, but that's not important right now.

It does help if the person in front of you reclines his seat.

Cathay are the best in the air. You'll have a great trip, and be spoiled for ever after. Enjoy, and please post a report.

That is debatable.

I am flying CX JFK-HKG-DXB on August 20th. Will be on the A346 service from JFK. Will be definitely posting a trip report on this (and my first ever trip report too) as i specifically chose this route to try the CX and the A346 at the same time .. so let's see.

Seat pitch is not that great. 32" in Y

Not sure about the 346, but in the 744s the seat pitch is further reduced by "boxes" underneath many seats. Those boxes house some hardwares for the PTVs and eat away the seat pitch significantly.

CX is one of the best airlines around in terms of service, but I would say seat pitch is only average at best.

I'm not aware of anyone else who has a significantly larger pitch. Maybe you should try those seats on Virgin's aluminium.

Malaysia and Thai have 34" pitch in economy. ANZ too... and many others. Not significantly more maybe but 5cm can make quite a difference.
what seems to be the officer, problem?

On some airplanes, yes, but not the whole fleet.

I have. Yes it was bad too. But there weren't any "boxes" under the seats which further blocked my legroom.
