EDI To BRS, LBA, BHD And BFS - Loads And Yields

BA Connect flies 5-times-per-weekday from BRS to EDI using the ER4. How are its yields and loads on this route?

U2 flies 3-times-per-weekday from BRS to EDI using either the 737 or 319. How are its yields and loads on this route?

How do both BA Connect and U2 compete on EDI-BRS? Obviously BAC does, in theory, appeal more for the businessperson in terms of its higher frequencies and so greater choice, convenience, flexibility and, ultimiately, perhaps usability. But...

BE flies 4-times-per-weekday from EDI to BHD using the DH4. How are its yields and loads on this route?

U2 flies 4-times-per-weekday (and Sunday) from EDI to BFS using either the 737 or the 319. How are its yields and loads on this route?

How do both BE and U2 compete on EDI-Belfast? Is BHD preferred by the all-important businesspeople in view of its greater, more central location? Or is this offset somewhat by its lower frequency compared to U2's?

BD flies 3-times-per-weekday from EDI to LBA using the ER4. How are its yields and loads on this route? I have heard that this is a good performer in terms of yields - with quite a few businesspeople in business.

I flew BRS-EDI the Monday before last (17th) with BA Connect and back EDI-BRS yesterday (28th). Load on BRS-EDI on BA4036 was full, 49/49, load on BA4035 EDI-BRS was 43/49, so from what I saw the flights were doing very well.

I remember when researching the flights, BA Connect had much better flight times throughout the day, which was the main reason I picked them (they were also a little cheaper than U2), whereas U2 were only first thing in the morning and in the evening with nothing in between.

Yeah. Hence one of the reasons they appeal - choice, convenience, flexibility. How was the punctuality?

OKish... BRS-EDI actually took off 25 minutes after scheduled departure but that was a combination of ground services' delays at BRS (something of a regular problem from what I hear) and also BRS being on 09. Caught up time in the air and arrived in EDI 5 minutes late. EDI-BRS was about 10 minutes late taking off due to late baggage but arrived on time (the allocated flight time is 1 hour 15 mins but the flight plan time is usually only about 50/55 mins).

Obviously, but they were only a little cheaper than U2... I think it was £50 return BA Connect, £60 return U2. I do have my doubts about how economical it is filling an ERJ with some of their lowest fares but I would have guessed the yields on this weren't too bad. And the buy onboard food was certainly selling well  Wink.
