Re confirming doesnt hurt, you might be able to get an Economy Plus seat but these tend to be over-wing if you want a good view be at the back.
number in the UK is 0845-844- 4777 it goes to a call centre in Ireland.
777's are spacious inside and very good cabin baggage stowage. The length of the plane inside feels distinctly smaller in length than you would expect from say a 744, or even a 767 (which is actually shorter).
's film service is ok but they do all run in a cycle.
checkin is located at the very end of LHR T3
(opposite side from VS
). Beware of the long queues as they are not always for UA
's flight (UA is hidden round a corner and the queues funnel up a bit).
Be sure at LHR
to allow 15 minutes from the departure lounge to the gate at Terminal 3 as it's a long walk, and also allow 10 minutes to go through the extra screening security at the gate itself.
(i'm assuming ORD
) can be a bit of a race.. you will arrive in International and will need to clear security, aftwards you will collect your bag and recheck it before taking a monorail to the domestic UA
terminal and go through baggage scanning again.
If using UA
there's less distance involved but the process is the same, except you will re-check your bag and be rescanned your carry on at roughly the same place. You may need to take a "moon buggy-esque" style hugely oversized tractor-bus from one terminal to another.
One last thing you might not be used to.. UA
charge for alcoholic drinks inflight (I dont like it at all) in Dollars.
So far in 2008 45 flights and Gold already. JFK, IAD, LGA, SIN, HKG, NRT, AKL, PPT, LAX still to book ! Home Airport LCY
