From the airline's website, it appears that the flights actually go to Bedford (BED) instead of New Bedford (EWB). I certainly cannot see much of any demand for two daily BED-ELM flights, though.

Interesting... I bet the service doesn't last six months. I really doubt that ELM will see nonstop service to Florida.

I wonder why they picked ELM and not ITH or BGM? ITH could really use another airline.

Substitute ACY for ELM and you have the same exact promises they made 8 months before they pulled out... sorry ELM, but don't get too excited

I agree. How many other cities have had promise of Florida service and Pan Am has just disappeared.

Maybe the Jetstream service will work...who knows.

It has been 2 years since I've been to Trenton and New Bedford.....how big have they gotten?

So I am to assume the Northeast flights will be Jetstreams and the planned Florida flights to be via 727?
14/32 is 6600' long....should be enough....but something tells me it is cutting it very close.
I know Allegheny brought the BAC 1-11 and DC-9-30 into ITH, but they never went any farther than UCA, ELM, DCA, LGA, and PIT, so a 727 with enough fuel to make it to Florida seems iffy with 6600'.

this has been the modus operendii for Pan Am for about 8 years. Announce, drain and bail.

The airline generally serves railroad cities because David Fink the President is former rail employee and he only flies to railroad cities.
Some people don't get it. Business is about making MONEY!

Surprisingly, they've lasted in ATL longer than I thought they would. They currently offer several times a week service to SFB (Have been doing this service since February) and UTA (Tunica, MS). I'm honestly surprised that DL hasn't started competing service to UTA using a DL Connection carrier.

The Atlanta service is well subsdizied to Tunica, so that isn't that surprising. The Orlando flight is because they need to position the plane into Tunica, so they might as well sell seats.

Whats the chance they will pull these flights like they did with their proposed IAD and PIT service before they even start? If they want to expand, shouldn't they return to those plans. BED-IAD makes more sense than BED-ELM

Except for the fact that the Sanford-Atlanta flights preceded the Tunica flights by a couple of months. The flight is also run in conjunction with Vacation Express into their "hub" in Sanford.

What BS!!

The train from Trenton is going to take a lot longer than it does from Newark. They have to get from the airport to downtown Trenton first, and I don't know of any bus service from TTN, unless they go into Ewing or West Trenton first.

And to advertise TTN service as NYC seems to be as much of a stretch as Ryanair advertising Hahn as Frankfurt!

14/32 is the runway at ITH and is 6600'. ELM has 6/24 at 7000' and 10/28 at 5402'.

I believe ITH could support the Jetstream service but not 727 to Florida.

Listen,

If United Airlines could fly the lower powered 727-200s into Moline, Illinois on a daily basis for years with only a 6500 foot runway with a field elevatiom of near 700 above sea level...I am quite sure that Ithaca NY unless weight restrictions on runway loading prohibit it.....a 727-200 with more powerful engines could be utilized.

A 727 at ITH would be a nice sight. I miss the days of F28's, DC-9's, and BAC 1-11's.
