EWR, JFK, LGA '91-'92

Wed Aug 02, 2006 12:10 pm

I guess I'm really bored so here's some highlights from the 1991 timetables of the majors at EWR, JFK, LGA . 1991 is an interesting year as DL had just taken over DL's Trans-Atlantic operations (save Heathrow) and CO had acquired Eastern's LGA slots (save the Shuttle).

I'll start with Newark airport and see if I can get to LGA and JFK right now.

I got my drivers license in '92, also went to my first concert in Feb '92. White Zombie at the Limelight, huge blizzard that night, got home at 7:am and drove right to school (thankfully it was a two hour delayed opening).

It's sad to see what US Airways has done to their EWR operations.

This is all very surprising. DAL cut DFW, LAX, FLL, and recently MCO since then. They had a nice operation at EWR back then. I'm actually surprised that UA wasn't bigger back then. I guess they didnt build up ops. until the middle 90s.

And AA 757 to Santo Domingo? wowzers.

Even though US Air served more routes from EWR UAL was still the #2 Carrier at EWR in terms of passengers.
