Thu Aug 03, 2006 1:35 pm

Iceland air and Thomas cook are two examples of operating both 300 and 200 series and british airways operated the 200 for a time i am not sure if they still do or not. i hope this helps

I don't know at a time the 757 was quite popular outside the US market. Now the list below is coming just off the top of my head (without checking the DB) and some carriers may have or have discontinued their 757 operations or disappeared altogether.

Royal
BA
Icelandair
Greenlandair
Iberia
LTU
Condor (Thomas Cook)
Xianmen
Shanghai
Royal Nepal
Uzbekistan
Aeromexico
Mexicana
Varig
Avianca
Guyana

As well a fair number of European IT operators

Vim Airlines (NN) of Russia have a fleet of 15 ex-Condor B752s, which incidentally are the only foreign built airliners with a Russian rego (12/15).

Canadian charter carrier SkyService still operates a significant fleet of 752s powered by RR engines. During the winter months they connect most Canadian population centers with the Caribbean and Mexico, especially the longer haul routes out west. During the summer they ferry vacationers across the pond to Europe.

Is this not rather a silly topic?? There are loads of operators of the 757 around the world.

Then again maybe some of us are not aware of a world outside the U.S....  Smile

Among the more obscure operators: Air Italy, a recent newcomer to the Italian charter market.

 Silly Hear hear!

There are over 1000 B757 airframes out there, listing all the companies is not really smart...
Take an A.net -search for Boeing 757! See what turns out...

But a thing to remember; British Airways was among the very first users of the type (second?) and operated dozens of them before any major US carrier, other than Eastern, acquired them.

B752's -- both cargo and passenger versions -- are operated by Far Eastern Transport here in Taiwan. At least two of them are wet-leased to Angkor airlines, but flying in FET colors.

I have seen it in this forum many times where people say that the 757 isn't that popular outside of the US so this isn't that silly for some people.

I am from the US and not all of us are as self centered as you seem to think. statements like that don't need to be said in this forum.

By far the majority of 757 are operating with US carriers but 757 do operate with non-US carriers. Just not in the same numbers as the US majors.

In Asia, it hasn't sold much outside of China.
China Southern & Air China operate a medium-sized fleet as does Xiamen & Shanghai Airlines in smaller numbers.

Too true, but over half the 757s out there are being operated by US-based carriers, as DL, UA and AA alone operate around 350 757s, plus CO, NW, US, UPS, and some other with smaller fleets, which add around 200-250 more as well.

True, but US airlines operate them in greater numbers. The top six 757 operators (American, Delta, United, UPS, Northwest, and Continental) are all based in the US.

As another special note, the top six 767 operators (Delta, ANA, American, Air Canada, JAL, and United) are either based in North America or Japan.

Guys, this might sound silly be can you consider Ghana International a non-US airlines. As all the flights are operated by Apple Vacations, a US company.

It's also because once you leave widebody fleets, the US represents a large amount of the narrowbody fleet.

For example, there's a thread celebrating TK hitting the 100 aircraft milestone. Without demeaning that (not my intention), our favorite airline, Northwest, operates more than 100 DC-9's alone!

IIRC, AA and DL represent a tick over 40% of all MD-80's sold, as another example of a 1000+ airframe plane.

I make it about 60% of 757s are operating with N- carriers. But 'twas ever thus. Most planes are US-based but most operators are not.

They have options for the A321. The chance is zero to see a B757 on JJ.

And RG returned the 4 752 they have back to ILFC.

LUFTHANSA?? NEVER!! Lufthansa operated indeed the B757 and flies also from time to time the B757! I saw some flights few months ago, during snow-storm, a Condor B757-300 was sub-chartered- e.g. HAM-MUC!
LH tried many years back the B757 on domestic routes, operated by Condor, but soon the figuered out, that the "one-aisle" dsign took too long to board/de-board the plane for biz-travellers.
