Yes, House colors with Lion Air on the tail.

Wedgetail, a rollout is an official unveiling, but I guess you already knew that. or maybe not.

My son is obsessed with Project Opensky. He literally has every aircraft they make, in almost every livery.

I will be in Amsterdam when this fine, new aircraft rolls out. I will check A.net in the hotel. Actually, I might announce it to the pax on the 767, on the way back. They probably will not know what I'm talking about and demand weather updates for EWR.<-(This happens everytime on TransATL. Flight attendants say that pax are wanted weather every 15 minutes.) I will just say, "Well, EWR looks like shit, as usual. As for Continental news, one of our new aircraft is rolling out the factory today. We will take delivery of them soon enough."

^^Maybe....  Smile

There are 3 ceremonies planned, one for each shift. The times are as follows (All PST, obviously):
- 3rd shift: 4 a.m.
- 1st shift: 9 a.m.
- 2nd shift: 5 p.m.

My friend and I work up in the Everett plant and we can't get out of work for the ceremony (boo!!), so he and I are possibly going to venture to the 4 a.m. one, then head right to work. I'm excited, this is my first "official" rollout at Boeing! Big grin

Thanks in advance!

Nice Royal (though looks a bit iffy on the leveling, wide wide angle shot?)...

Had hoped to be up there tomorrow but work beckons. Wife and daughter trying to get up there this evening though. Will let my little one tell me all about it  Smile

The extra pair of exit doors, aft of the wings, are some of the new major changes, therefore it's not OPTIONAL and CO is getting those doors no matter what. The only things that are optional are the blended winglets.

There is some confusion as to where the door is in the minds of some people. It is BEHIND the wing, not in front of it like on the 321, 757, 764, etc.

There are doors 1R,L and then the 4 overwing exits, then the two new doors, then the same rear doors as before.

I never understood this plan, as personally I think that adding the doors at the 2L,R position like on those other jets allow for more functionality rather than always boarding from 1L.

Turn times seem faster when narrowbodies have a boarding door 2L like the 757 and 321.

Quoting MCOflyer (Reply 31):

The door is not optional. The door is always going to be there.

But on the interior, it can either be configured to function, or disabled and treated as a "plug" which can later be modified to a functioning door should another airline buy the plane and want the door active.

One big plane for a 737 for sure. Very nice.

Will the 737-900 have the new STOL package that the 800 now gets for GOL?

This might be a stupid question, but does the 737-900ER replace the original -900? Basically, will Boeing take orders for the older model?

Just to elaborate a little, the doors are indeed standard but depending on the seating config, the lower density configurations may have the option to deactivate the doors.

Yes this model will become the definitive -900 model and replace the previous version. CO had the last three outstanding orders for the -900 but converted those three to the -900ER when they ordered 12 of that type recently.

Wow, indeed a nice aircraft. Even though it looks similar to the other 737NG types the new aft door makes the 739ER look totally different to me. It even seems as a big aircraft now so to speak. Very nice aircraft and congrats to Boeing, its employees and the airlines to have ordered this beautiful aircraft. I hope I will see the 739ER one day. Unfortunately where I live there's no airline who ordered the 739ER and no airline has plans on buying it either.....  Sad

Indeed. These larger 737s are actually longer (interior cabin wise) than the old 727's.
