Travelling To India With Malaysia Airlines

Sun Aug 06, 2006 5:51 pm

Hi Folks

I am travelling to my country of birth for the first time in over 13 years.  Smile Excited and also keen to know the changes that have occurred please help me in few enquiries.

1. I wanted to confirm my seats on MH flight but nothing is mentioned on
seat guru website  Sad  banghead . Is there any other website that can inform me about MH seating layout.

2. A Website that informs of IFE of various airlines

3. And any past experiences with MH and their hotels at KUL as stopovers are also welcome.

Thank you for your responses.

I would also look forward to write my first trip report since joining Anet.

Hopefully this is off some help regarding MH. They put me up at the Pan Pacific on my stop over. If you have any more questions, just let me know.

You can look on the MH website, it will give you all the seating maps for all of it's a/c! It won't give you any tips like seat-guru though  Wink

Here is MH's month by month guide to thier IFE programming:

Hope this helps!

I'll also add my 2 cents:
http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/61808

For best seats in economy I usually prefer sitting at the very back, usually have had luck as most people prefer to seat more forward in the aircraft, so there is the chance of finding more empty seats. Of course it is noisier at the back along with more pronounced turbulence.
You can pre-select your seats on MH, just call their local number or your travel agent should be able to do it.
You should have a great time with them, they are a fantastic airline!

I flew last month in C class on MH from EWR-KUL-SYD on B777. It was the BEST service and food and all in any flights I have ever taken. I have travelled a whole lot in the past 15 years (accumulating close to 3.3 million miles), and you will love the experience. Are you flying coach or business?

Also, the Golden Lounce at KLIA is impeccable!!

Since KUL's Pan Pacific was mentioned, you can check out the hotel at www.panpacific.com. Recently they launced a golf buggy cart to take the passenger from the arrival hall to the hotel's lobby, free of charge. They have also set up a check in counter near the (international) baggage reclaim area so that you can check in while waiting for your luggage.

Have a pleasant trip with MH, as I always does.

Which city in India are you flying to? I've recently flown MH and posted a TR: BLR-KUL-BLR On MH (by Nimish Jun 6 2006 in Trip Reports)

If this is your first trip to India in 13 years, I strongly urge you to leave all your pre-conceived notions behind (if any), and visit as though you're visiting for the first time. The country has changed a lot, but it's still essentially the same  boggled   crazy !
Incredible India!

Hey dude are u flying C or Y, coz i remember MH had just advertised discounted C fares to India for about NZD 4k return, which is great considering that TG and the like sometimes charge as much as NZD 7k.

I just booked Business class SYD-KUL-CMB (Columbo) return at christmas time for about AUD3K. Thought that was a serious bargain. According to MH, the SYD-KUL sectors are new C product.

KUL-CMB is A330 - has anyone flown on the scarebus in C?

Yeah after currecy conversion that should be similar to the value i was quoting. And even AKL gets the new C class as advertised by MH.

But i think the ads also said that these fares do not accrue any mileage. Is that the case with you also?

The fare type is D. I am Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer and D fares on MH give full mileage benefits. I checked with flying club prior to confirming flight

To Nimish and AKLDEL Nonstop I am flying to DEL. We have a family house in Haryana (quite old). Our entire family have moved to NZ in 93. I am in late 20's so have few friends and very fond memories of birth country. I look forward to any changes  Smile

I am a NZ frequent flyer member but trvelling with MH is due to cheap return fare and also I can change my schedule when travelling back without any charge. And we are (My Dad is travelling as well) getting miles with this fare.

Thank you all  Smile
