AmEagle (STL-MSY) - Lightning Strike?

Tue Aug 08, 2006 4:58 am

Any info from the ground crew at MSY? My wife said it was AA5367 (Chautauqua Airlines) that was possibly hit by lightning en route.

Thanks

During which portion of the flight did this strike supposedly occur.....we've had thunderstorms blow through the airport on and off today.

She doesn't know, but flightaware is showing a sharp right turn in their flight path in southern Mississippi...

She also heard that the plane did not arrive at the gate, they were deplaning pax on the tarmac (or something like that).

Tom, her flight (AA MSY-DFW) is delayed because the inbound was late...are there wx delay currently?

Thanks

No official weather delays, though we just had another cell blow through (off and on t-storms today, not continuous).

I moved offices recently (more duties), I'm actually in a building just off concourse D that holds our Planning and Development Department, as well as our program consultants, so I can't readily look out a back window at AA's gates to see what the deal is down there.

Also, Flightaware shows 5367 still on the ground here, so there must be some issue with the airplane, flight, en route weather, etc.

I am showing it was cancelled?, and it was a MSY-STL route, not the reverse, and CHQ is American Connection, not American Eagle, two different Airlines.

AA also operates a mainline (MD80) on that route which operated today apprantly as well.
