is it just me or do others find the barrage of ugly winglets, butts and engines disturbing too? the worst ones being the winglets of the A310 and A320 family, the MD-11 takes the cake though in all round ugliness ugly pinched butt, ugly bulging tail engine intake, ugly, ugly winglets, the entire aircraft looks like a prototype in test, the B777 is no less with ugly thin tail seems like the rudders fell off some where and the MD aircraft style pinched sharp butt why are these ugly butts in? what happenet to the refined ends like the B767s and theDC-10s and DC-9s, which brings us to the B717 and the former MD aircraft based on the type, as if ugly pinched butt was not enough they had to add an ugly sharp blade like thing on top of the tail, other uglies include the cockpit area of the 777 looks like its been taken from the 767 and just snapped on one can clearly see the area where the two meet and its totaly out of place, unlike the flowing smoothness of other aircraft including the 747 so beautifully built,despite the obvious obstacles, and what about the ugly Rolls Royce engines and their clones powering the A320 family and the A340, ugly tails award goes to the A320 family too, just like theyve been snapped on, no smooth flow here like in the other airbus aircraft why? and what about the ugly stretched aircraft trend? was there any need to stretch the 757? and further stretch the 767 and adorn it with the ugliest of ugly winglets, the ugliest stretched aircraft award should go to eitherr the 777-300,757-300 or the A321, they all look totally out of proprtion.The Russian aircraft? ugly with ugly crude winglets and other protrusions, sad that the 727 has also gone in for the winglets as has the Boeing business jet, most unphotogenic aircraft on the ground award should go to the A340.I shudder to think what the stretched 747 is ging to look like.
