BA LHR-BOM: Why Always G-VIIK?

I've just returned from 2 weeks in India and noticed that I was on the same plane, G-VIIK, in both directions. I then looked up on www.lhr-lgw.co.uk and it seems that this aircraft was used on this route nearly every day.

I thought that aircraft were rotated around various routes all the time - why has this one been used so much on LHR-BOM?

Probably because the rotation is a perfect timing. As in the aircraft gets back to LHR and sits on the ground for just the right time before going back to Bombay again...

I operated the Bombay evening 777 flight on July 10th, and it was VIIM, so I guess it's not always the same one!

Back in 2001 I flew her EGKK (Gatwick) - KDEN (Denver) so its not always gone off to Bombay.

Infact that was before she was fitted with new club world and had the nice cradle seats, how I miss those seats!
