Small picture taken from the inagural here:

http://www.el-nuevodia.com/versiones...0060808_006821/nota_248_317790.htm

There has been such a rush to replace the lost capacity by LAB, that MIA now has more service to Bolivia than it has ever, ever had. More than 80% more capacity than last summer.

AA's Miami-Bolivia flights, which now operate 10x a week, have been averaging 99% loads for the past six weeks.

Good summer for MIA. Korean Air and AeroSur are here; LAN Argentina lands next week; Air Madrid comes in October; AeroShell (Ecuador cargo airline) applied for Miami rights with DOT this morning. We'll hopefully be seeing Tikal Jets, Domodedovo, Aserca, and CONVIASA joining in the next 6-8 months.

How did they get authority to operate this? They still lack DOT authority...

No, it's not painted in the AeroSur livery so far as I know. My fiance was one of the FA's on this flight last night. The aircraft used on the AeroSur charters has been reconfigured in a FC/YC configuration. The loads are not great; the flight last night had less than 30 people on it.

The flight is operated on behalf of AeroSur by RIA. It is not an AeroSur aircraft, crew, etc. The flight still uses a Ryan callsign. So, it must have something to do with an American carrier operating the flight on behalf of AeroSur. Apparently RIA is also operating other trips for AeroSur, because my other half is flying all over South America doing scheduled flights.

It is in AeroSur's livery, look at the picture:

Their livery is very simple. All white with AeroSur across the side and a teal tail.

#1 - I can't pull up the picture

#2 - There are more than one aircraft deployed on this ad hoc assignment for Aero Sur.

What I've heard with Tikal Jets is that the airport in Guatemala doesn't meet US "standards" or whatever. I've seen Southern Air flights but not the Korean Air Cargo (and they fly/have flown for them) could this be the plane they're using? In what days/time are they coming?

By the way, since when Aviacsa stopped MIA flights?

A google search shows nothing so must be a brand new airline venture that wants to fly to miami> You should find more info for us since you're in Ecuador  Smile This would make the aviation scene much more interesting, bc there hasn't been an Ecuadorian cargo airline flying to MIA since Aeca. Now all they need is a good livery, hopefully no eurowhite/blue tail nonsense as always.

The picture shows the plane's front half and it does have Aerosur titles. Hopefully the tail has the Aerosur logo.

The Ryan 757 looks to be in full AeroSur livery when looking at the photo. It shows the titles and the engines also appear to be green in the photo so I guess it is in full AeroSur colors. Hopefully soon we'll see the first photos of our MIA spotter friends... Big grin

Nice to see that MIA is receiving more traffic, that gives me more reason to go aircraft spotting in MIA some day... Big grin

I'm pretty sure GUA meets all the standards, since AA, TA, DL, etc. already fly there. Korean Air uses their own plane. Flights operate on Tuesdays. The reason you haven't seen is it that the plane comes in at 1AM, leaves at 3.30AM. On 24 August they begin a Friday frequency that lands and takes off in the morning, during daylight.

Due to lack of aircraft, Aviacsa did suspend MIA and ORD (their two longest haul routes). They plan on resuming both, though they don't have enough planes right now. They have kept their Miami CTO office open.

Glad to know the AeroSur plane is in full c/s. I wanted to go spotting by MIA next week, but with the current security situation it might not be the best idea.

Thanks Mark for the information, by the way when did Aviacsa had the last flights into Miami?

There was also a Saudi Arabian MD11 parked on the SE corner of the airport for a few days, why was that aircraft there?

MIA and ORD ended in April. The resumption date for both is tentatively 07Dec06.

No idea, but a part of the Saudi Royal Family lives in Miami on Fisher Island, so that may have something to do with it (assuming it was a passenger plane).

It was pax, and that's probably why although they usually use the L1011 or 747SP for these flights.

I hope AeroSur is not severily impacted by the security alert due to these terrorist loonies. What a timing.

I always find it nice to see Middle Eastern airlines in our region --> Caribbean/South America. It's odd to see but very nice. We once had a Afriqiyah A300-600R here in CUR for the new year. I have no idea what it was doing here and unfortunately haven't seen it since I wasn't aware of the flight, nobody was I think.
