Branson was in India last year seeking to set up an airline there. Government of India restricts foreign direct investment to 26%. Not to mention, there are already several players waiting in the wings to start an airline there. This is in addition to the five airlines that have recently started. Also, India seriously lacks the infrastructure for growth in its aviation sector. The airports and airspace system is facing saturation.
Restrictions are too tough for a foreign company to start an airline in China. Anyhow, Virgin Group has its hands full with getting Virgin America going. They have a large amount of capital tied up in a venture that is facing some serious opposition.
Virgin Galactic seems poised for some good business at the end of the decade. I still think it will only be attainable to the millionaire club for the near future.
There were some rumours of something going on in Canada. I haven't heard South America and Virgin Group in the same sentence. Maybe someone else can elaborate on that.
