Mon Jun 26, 2000 8:31 am

I bet that this A340 isn't underpowered:

What do people think. It sure looks quite good on an A343.

Roll on the A340-600 and A340-500.

Damn, that looks AMAZING...what's the thrust ratio on the Trent 500? I bet the A340-500 and -600 will be ROCKETS!

After crawling around under a A340 at Avalon years ago, it confirms my thoughts that ground clearance was issue if a larger engine were to be used.

Looks like they'll have to modify the landing gear too on future models.

Looks great! Saw the SQ A345 picture on Airbus' site...WOW!

It's too bad they can throw those RR's on the A343!

Like Dnalor I was also wondering about the ground clearence. I think the 340-500/600 will have new landing gears.

I can't wait to fly on one of these new RR Trent powered A340-500/600s. They should have a re-engine program with the A340-200/300 models by replacing the underpowered CFM56s with RR Trent 500s.
