Any Shuttle Between CDG And ORY?

Mon Aug 14, 2006 5:01 pm

My brother will soon be going off to Biarritz from GVA. However, his flaight plan is as follows.
Not very practical I'd say.
What would be the easiest and fastest way for him to get from CDG to ORY. I guess there are shuttles between the two airports since the Metro would take pertty long.
If yes, would you be able to tell me their frequency, cost, and place where you can catch them

Thanks in advance

There is an Air France bus doing the ORY-CDG route, IIRC the cost was some 15 euros. No idea on time, etc.

If he is traveling on a single ticket from GVA to BIQ, follow the instructions of the carrier (he'll probably end up on the AF shuttle below, but without having to worry about luggage or shuttle ticket).

If he has two tickets, he probably will need to collect his luggage at CDG and then board an Air France shuttle to ORY. They run every 30 min between 0600 and 2200. If I recall correctly, both LX and AF use CDG/2F for flights to/from GVA, so he will find the shuttle at door 3. After leaving CDG, the shuttle stops first at ORY/W then ORY/S.

My sister took it this summer and the trip lasted an hour for a cost of 16 euros OW. Tickets can be bought onboard.

I have never taken the shuttle, I am sure it is a fine way to travel between the two airports, however I would be cautious about it if the connection time is short, since the bus might be caught in traffic if the trip happens during peak traffic hours. In that case, another solution is to take the express metro "RER" B line which runs from CDG to Antony, in the south of Paris, where you can then take an airtrain called "Orlyval" that will get you to Orly. It should take roughly 75 to 90 mn... so it takes a little longer than the bus but you know for sure when you get there since there won't be traffic jams to slow you down

More info on, choose the link "international passengers" at the top right of the page, and then "airport access" to the left

if the connection is at 3pm on a weekday, I wouldn't worry about taking the shuttle - if it is at 8.30am on a normal business day, I'd totally take the RER

Hope that helps.

Quoting RootsAir (Thread starter):
be going off to Biarritz

So your brother comes and see me  Wink ...

There is a seasonal route between BIQ and GVA: too bad he could not catch it!

Depending of his connecting time, "Les Cars Air France" is an option. Easy to catch at the Airport, but be aware: often crowed and, to a certain point, less reliable than the RER/Metro, due to potential trafic jam.

I do recommand to buy the ticket directly at the kiosk instead of onboard. The driver is something a little be rude ... Well, it's only my experience there, so I will not put it as a rule  Wink

Once in BIQ, feel free to give him my contact if he needs any kind of support ...
