I have written to BA
management on a few occasions, complimenting the airline for the wonderful service I received. It occurred to me that, due to the fact there are many BA
staff in these forums, that my compliments may be better spread around.
I worked for Western/Delta at YVR
from 1975-1998. During that time, due to a local agreement between us and BA
, we received a complimentary system-wide pass each year.
As if that wasn't enough, I have yet to travel in Y-class on BA
! During those years, I travelled either YVR
7 times. Each one of those flights was a very memorable occasion. It is also BA
who introduced me to the luxury of Stilton Cheese and Port after a meal.
The flights on BA
were, for me, one of the very best parts of each holiday.
Just seems to me that BA
got it right every time! I absolutely loved the catering. The service in Club and Club World was amazing! Without exception, every single flight crew was pleasant, professional, and had great sense of humor. On one YVR
, I was on a 767 in the last row of Club, 2 seats to myself. I was amazed that they had a French wine called "Chateauneuf du Pape", which I had heard about but never tried. I mentioned that to the Purser, and he seemed to be delighted to introduce me to that wine! I must have consumed an entire bottle, and he even gave me one to take with me! He was so professional, so jolly and had such a great sense of humor. There was a wonderful lady working the section with him, at least 6 feet tall, so professional and friendly, and beautifully groomed. I thought I had literally died and gone to heaven. I the morning we had a wonderful concoction, a drink with the consistency of a milkshake, which I think contained muesli and other ingredients, which was absolutely delicious.
Anyway, it goes to show how treating one well pays off in the end. I had occasion to travel with my Mom twice to England, and as she would absolutely not travel standby, she purchased J-Class tickets for both of us on both occasions on BA
Despite that, I will never be able to repay BA
or thank them enough for all the wonderful treatment I was given over the years. I suppose the best thing I can do is to promote BA
whenever I can, and that's a promise I will keep. Thanks to all of you at BA
for then, for now and forever. I will never forget!
