Wow, they had that plane for, what, 3 weeks? Delivery was July 31st, IIRC, and they already manage to damage it.

Perhaps Jade should have a longer flight training program for it's crews, before putting that aircraft into revenue service so quickly. Tail strike already? Not good.

Oh, it is a beautiful aircraft, isn't it?

A tail strike normally refers to the rear portion of the aircraft touching the ground during rotation.....this was not the case here.....it happened due to wrong loading on the ground.....moreover, this probably had nothing to do with the pilots....more the responsibility of those who load the cargo on the aircraft.....

The lead of this post implies that there was a tail-strike, therefore that's why I commented that the flight crew may have been involved. I agree with your comments though, and I would think a more likely accident would have be done by the ground personnel.

Agree with you...the title is highly misleading...."Tail tip" would generally mean the top end of the tail, right? I was wondering how that could get damaged Big grin

If you would have clicked the link provided in the first post, you would have read:

During loading the tail tipped and struck the ground. Amount of damage is unknown.

Saw that afterwards... They may have temporarily had that article offline the first time I went there. Sorry about the confusion. Still sounded intially like a tail strike.

My bad.  Wink

I saw this nice looking bird when I was at PAE about a month ago...nice to see they've already managed to bang it up a bit!
Picked a hell of a week to quit sniffing glue.
