AA 2479 - Why So Chronically Late?

Wed Aug 23, 2006 4:57 pm

As I'll be flying on AA 2479 DFW-LAX next week before connecting to SQ 29 LAX-TPE-SIN, I've been following the flight lately. In the past week, AA 2479 has been chronically late -- yesterday by more than 4 hours. There haven't been serious weather events in Dallas or LA, and the other DFW-LAX flights have generally been on time.

What's behind these chronic delays on 2479? It's flown on a 738, not an aging aircraft. I'm a bit concerned as to making my interline connection ... should I fly stand-by on an earlier DFW departure?
