BA Gatwick To Vilnius (VNO).

Tue Aug 29, 2006 5:46 pm

Looking to book for a friend LGW-VNO and normally go BA.

Prices are always high for Xmas (all the migrants want to go home for Crimble!), but BA are showing no flights at all for all of December. You can normally book 364 days in advance with BA so does anyone know if BA have stopped this route? Surely it can't be sold out already!

Thanks!

Has been stopped for booking couple of days ago. Last flight will be October 29th.

British Airways will hand over its passengers to Lithuania’s flyLAL after
cancelling flights between Vilnius and London on October 29. Numbers of passengers who have bought tickets after the date is withheld.

Rasa Barisiene of British Airways said that an agreement was hammered out during Friday’s talks with Lietuvos Avialinijos, operator of flyLAL, that the Lithuanian company would fly BA passengers on the route Vilnius-London-Vilnius with no additional charge until August 1, 2007.

“No additional charges will be required from clients who want to use the tickets, clients will be able to use BA tickets on the route Vilnius-London-Vilnius for analogous routes operated by flyLAL. Clients will only have to notify that his reservation has not been canceled and he would fly on the date indicated on the ticket,” says Arunas Griskenas, flyLAL CEO.

Air Baltic and Lithuanian/flyLAL will still be serving LGW-VNO in winter.

Otherwise you can go from London (stansted) to Kaunas, the train from Kaunas to Vilnius costs around 10 litas, 3 sterling.
From New Yorqatar to Califarbia...

Lithuanian Airlines run LGW-VNO twice a day and "taking over" BA's slots as I understand it.

Also Air Baltic run LGW-VNO (codeshare with SAS I think) at least daily, if not twice a day.
