Delta Domestic 767-300 IFE Controls

Thu Aug 31, 2006 9:31 am

Does anyone know which of Delta's domestic 767-300s have the analog dials for the IFE controls and which ones have the digital buttons and LED displays?

Last July, I flew on a Delta domestic 767-300 with the refurbished interior, and it had the digital IFE controls. I did not have time to see the registration number of the aircraft, but it was on July 11 on SJU-ATL. I have flown Delta's domestic 767-300s before that, and my previous flight on a domestic 767-300 had the analog dials.

Every Delta 763 which I have flown on have analog dials. I have not flown on a refurbished 763 yet, so I assume that the refurbished have the digital IFE controls. Question answered..... unless you are talking about specific registrations. In that case it would be all the refurbished ones which I don't know what the registrations are.

I don't know if this was part of the refurbishment or not. The digital IFE controls looked similar to those on the older 757s, but with a call button and reading light on/off button. The old-style tube headphone holes were covered up.

Well, I am pretty positive that it IS part of the refurbishment.

Unless it's been refurbished, N124DE has analog IFE controls. I flew it JAX-ATL in January.

I actually find it quite strange that Delta would install new IFE controls on their domestic 767-300s. The domestic 767-300s are slated to get the Song IFE system, which will have new controls anyway.

The IFE controls on the Song system are on top of the armrest, rather than on the side. The LED display is also orange, rather than green, and the buttons are illumnated. However, the version that the domestic 767-300s will get will likely have a call button and reading light on/off button.
