Brotherhood Of Avation Amoung Hostile Nations.

Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:13 pm

Saw the Iran Air in flight DVD with approach to LHR in heavy traffic in the 747SP. In the cockpit the crew had perfect english speeking pilots who were very professional to all the international traffic including an AA- 777 and appeared to be soley safety driven with no political ax to grind. Is there this wonderful "leave the politics at home" attitude in commercial avation?

Thank god politics doesn't apply much to international civil aviation. Just two days ago I flew in a US airliner for many hours in Iranian airspace (NW DC-10 BOM-AMS), and two years ago I flew right across Cuba on one (CO B738 PTY-EWR). It's really nice that US airlines feel safe enough to fly such routes even in the current climate, even though the US government has on occasion taken out civil airliners of hostile nations (IR655 on July 3 1988). I hope it stays that way.
