Where Can I Find Flight Info For DHL And FedEx?

Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:30 pm

Just like the title reads. Where can I find flight schedules for carriers such as DHL and FedEx? If I recall I read a post somewhere about how UPS's are top secret or something, which seems ridiculous to me but whatever.

Pretty simple set of reasons.

1. Security - they generally have a policy of not advertising to their customers or openly their scheduled dedicated (owned or chartered), co-load or commercial schedules. A historical issue and may nowadays be part of their TAPA certification.

2. Commercial - why openly publicise the "how we do it" on some of the less frequent routes where one operator may have an inside track advantage.

3. Customer perception - customers just dont get "hub and spoke" when it comes to express! It's easier to say nothing.

Think you'd find that the info is classed as "company confidential" and no one will give it away!  Smile

As stated, unless a ramp manager, ramp agent, pilot, or crew scheduling with any cargo carrier, the flight times and numbers are confidential.

Wouldn't it be possible by viewing arrivals and departures to/from the known cargo hubs using flightaware.com? They'll give a history of each flight going back a ways. It'd be a bit of work to come up with a complete schedule, but it can be done.

I have seen a one Page Map of the International Routes..Its pretty hard to digest, Lots of stopovers, ect..Looks kind of like a Super-hard NFL Play...lots of different colored lines going all over the place...Changes by Day of week ect..but you get get an idea by using the flight-trackers and enter a known hub like IND or MEM for FX or SDF for 5X (UPS) or ANC (International Fuel stop)...Its amazing How many Airports are served each nite...Also the Truck Traffic feeding a Hub like IND must be seen to be believed, Former Farmland around IND as Warehouse city, you can GoogleEarth IND and Look around Saves gas...just used one of the Trucks for reference..to the Huge Size of these places..That Town Used to be Called Plainfield, now FX calls it Planefield.

You'd think so but given the significant number of leased aircraft, JV's etc... you can work out key hub to hub and some other mainline destinations but would stop there. As FXRamper says it's confidential.

While you can't find an official timetable from FX, ER and 5X, you can look up flights at Flightaware.
