CO 1934: EWR-LGA?

I was surfing around flytecomm.com today, and I noticed that CO 1934 flew EWR-LGA today. I assumed this is for repositioning, but then I checked continental.com, and Flight 1934 again turned up as a scheduled flight. If it just repositioning, surely it wouldn't come up on continental.com's flight status checker, and it wouldn't say "arrived early"?

Anyone have more information on this? Thanks.

I'd guess is that this is the plane that's going to bring the Yankees to Kansas City for their series against the Royals. The Yanks use a CO 737 for their travels, and I know that LGA is the airport they use since it's a short trip from Yankee Stadium across the Triboro Bridge to get to LGA.

Thanks, that sounds like a plausible explanation.

When the Yankees, or any other professional sports team for that matter, board a plane like this, do they walk in the front door of the terminal, get their bags checked, and go through security like everyone else, or is it handled differently? Would this CO bird leave from the central terminal at LGA, or somewhere else?

The Yankees have been using Continental flt#1908 all season, so it would make sense that this is the positioning flight beforehand.

And I would assume they would board the plane more like a private jet than a standard commerical flight.

I'm not sure if all 100 numbers are blocked off, but at least the low 19xx's (definitely up to 40) are reserved for CO charters.

Slightly off-topic but within the general stream. Several years ago I was able to find SA flights that went from JFK to LGA on 744 equipment. Does anyone know what that was all about? Also, another example of same-city/different airport scheduled flights are GIG-SDU flights. Do these still operate? How about BWI-IAD that used to be operated by UA express with Jetstream 31 equipment?

CO Express flew IAH-Ellington Field, a small airport in eastern Houston, until about two years ago. Better than sitting in traffic.

I believe that CO also had a HOU-IAH shuttle for a while. Do they still do this?

CO dropped HOU entirely at the same time WN dropped IAH.

I cannot confirm it but I remember being really surprised about it several years ago.
