KL872 DEL - AMS (4-09-06) Cancelled Why?

Mon Sep 04, 2006 3:31 pm

Hi all:

On eo fmy friends was supposed to fly to AMS by KL872 last night. But i get a phone call this mornign saying that shes still in DEL!! The KLM staff say there is some technical problem. But the KLM website shows that they took off at 00.50 hours and landed at 01.20 hours.

Anyone know whats wrong with the plane? Its an MD 11.

Secondly, did they actually take off and land again..?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want every single airport and airplane in India to be on!

PH-KCC returned to stand (so never took-off) due to generator complaint; they are awaiting spares from Mumbai, consequently passengers and crew had to make a night-stop and had a 25 hours delay  Sad
don't throw away tomorrow !

Another one in a long list of MD11 delays over the past couple of weeks. At the end of last week KL873 AMS HYD actually took off but returned to AMS three hours later, to be delayed for almost 20 hours thereafter.

The MD11s should get some relieve though, as effective yesterday, the KL681/682 AMS YVR AMS route is operated with the A332 iso the MD11 which was previously scheduled. The A332 deployment was made possible because of the arrival of KLM's fifth A332, PH-AOE, and the MD11 from the YVR route will not be deployed elsewhere in the network. Instead, the first MD11 will undergo its cabin retrofit imminently.
