First Pictures Of 1st A320 For Span. LCC Clickair

Mon Sep 04, 2006 8:50 pm

Here are the first pictures of the first A320 for Clickair.

This is how it looked like, it's EC-GRF (named Montseny) flying for Iberia since 1991 (first as EC-FBQ)

Good to see something different, the livery reminds me of Air Dolomiti.

EC-GRF was the second A320 delivered to IB (10.01.1991), originally registered EC-576 and later EC-FBQ.

I like the colour scheme a lot. I'd love to see them come to CWL at some point in the future.

Great Colour scheme, shame there seems to be more green on the hangar floor than on the aircraft though  Wink

If the A320s could be painted in bare metal this would be a beauty. Still, I like this livery how it is right now.

When will airlines get creative and use names that aren't Air-______ or _____-Air/Airlines??

It just seems like when a new airline comes along they pick a random word and put "air" before or after that word... Clickair?

I can probably count on one hand the names of airlines that have thought of something out of the norm

I'm surprised Mexicana hasn't raised a fuss over the name since they had it first. I know I know, different country, continent and wording. But still. Not very imaginitive I agree. It could be worse, it could be "Viva! Aerobus".

It seems to be what happens to aircraft that are new to the Spanish register. I once flew on an Air Europa B733 which was registered EC-262. It didn't carry that registration for very long - no more than a few weeks after it was delivered to AEA.

This airline will start operations with three aircrafts, apparently with EC-GRE, EC-GRF and EC-GRH, all of them delivered to Iberia in 1991.

According to this article in Spanish newspaper El Pais (in Spanish):

http://www.elpais.es/articulo/econom...elpporeco/20060905elpepieco_8/Tes/

Clickair will start selling tickets on Thursday (Sept. 7) and will start operations on the 29th of October.

First destinations will be (all from Barcelona): Valencia, Bilbao, Malaga, Sevilla, Amsterdam, Dublin, Geneva, Zurich, Prague, Lisbon, Porto and Moscow. However, the launch of some of these destinations could be delayed.

It's still unknown which company will do the handling for Clickair in Barcelona (because Iberia Handling lost the concession for this airport).

Clickair, as many other LCCs already do, will try to increse the use of each aircraft (compared to Iberia), therefore it will have up to five crews for each aircraft (instead of three that are common in Iberia).

Well, and concerning the interior of these aicrafts (this is not mentioned in the article), they will probably be very similar to Iberia. Seat covers may be changed and business class would be removed.

Great Looking airplane.

Boring Name.

Might as well have called it "Airline Airways", or "Air Airlines", or something just as original...

Did I get that right? IB Handling is pulling out of BCN? That is really a massive surprise given the still high number of Iberia flights even after the impending reduction of the hub here. Who is going to handle the movements of the IB Group?

Yes, IB handling lost the concession for the Barcelona airport. Employees will be transferred to one of the three new handling companies in Barcelona: Flightcare, Globalia and Newco.

By the way, Clickair starts selling tickets today for their new routes (former Iberia or Air Nostrum routes) for just 5 Euro!!!!!

Barcelona-Zurich 1x daily
Barcelona-Geneva 2x daily
Barcelona-Lisbon 1x daily
Barcelona-Sevilla 6x daily
Sevilla-Paris Orly 2x daily
Valencia-Paris Orly 2x daily
Valencia-Rome Ciampino 1x daily

Probably passengers that already had an Iberia or Air Nostrum ticket might be disappointed, as the IB routes are taken over by Clickair. No business class on Clickair.

They will start with three frames, by the end of next year this should be up to 12. And by the end of 2008 the fleet would consist of 30 planes.

Check their website: www.clickair.com

Some excellent intro, lead-in offers, particularly on BCN-SVQ and BCN-GVA - about 10.50 EUR one-way incl. tax.

I note some of the interesting flight times on SVQ-BCN, particularly the 2330-0059*.

VLC, it would seem, will initially have 1 based 320 operating a twice-daily frequency to ORY and once-daily to FCO. Which other routes will they operate from VLC?

I see its SVQ-ORY flights will be operated by BCN-based aircraft.

I agree, on an A300 it would've looked gorgeous.

The first pic is already up. It kinda reminds me of rare liveries seen on bare metal cargo aircraft on the 1980s, early 90s.

TriStar500 - IB Handling is not pulling out of BCN...what happened is that AENA(the spanish airports authority) granted new concessions at all airports due to the dergulation of airport handling, and unfortunately they did not renew IB Handling's agreement in BCN and I believe the airports in the Canary Islands as well.

IB Handling will still be able to do "autohandling" for its pure IB flights...but is still in a fight to do "autohandling" for Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum and Clickair as well. The debate is still up in the air.... hopefully an agreement can be reached soon.

As for the rest of the employees of IB Handling...they will be absorbed into the other companies who won the hanlding contracts at BCN.
