What Is On The Nose Of This 757? (Photo)

Tue Sep 05, 2006 11:17 pm

Can someone explain what they are testing on this 757? It looks like someone is trying to disguise this 757 as a TU-144.

Judging by the logo, it's an F-22 Avionics testbed.

Yeah, it used to be based at BWI, not sure where it is now. As said before, its a F-22 Avionics testbed for Boeing, Northrup Grumman, and Raytheon.

Hope that helps,

It is at BFI, with most of the nose bits taken off.

You mean, BWIA? British West Indian Airlines?

Sorry, just making fun of another thread.

Thanks for the update. I got to fuel that plane once, no different than a regular 757, but the beast looked wierd as heck up close.

I've been trying to figure out which is uglier, this thing or 737 winglets. I really don't know.

If you like this thing, or if you like 737 winglets, this isn't personal. It's just a matter of taste, I guess.
