KLM A330 In BCN

Thu Sep 07, 2006 7:21 pm

A question for those well into KLM operations.

Last week (Tuesday Aug. 29th), while I was boarding my TAP flight to LIS and FNC I saw a KLM A330 doing the KL1672 that is usually operated by a 737.

I know the route was upgraded to an A330 in the inmediate days after the BCN strike but didn't hope to see it still there, does anyone know if the A330 will keep being a regular visitor to BCN or was it just a replacement?

Btw: Also saw a MEA A330 in LIS doing cargo ops, nice to see them flying.

The A330 will not replace the B737 regularly. It will be used when necessary because of some disruption and passenger backlog.

The other day a T7 was sent:

I'm guessing it was actually flying for Taag.

I'm replying a bit late on this!

Well, I assumed it was doing cargo ops as it was parked right on the cargo hangars, but I'd love to have any details of MEA operations with Taag.

About the 777 pictured above:
Can somebody tell me why there is "ETOPS" written on door of the front gear ?
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

I guess it's a requirement for all ETOPS certified a/c. I've seen it on all certified KL a/c and MH a/c too and even 'TransPacific ETOPS' on others like this CZ beauty:
