Location Of Royal Suite At Heathrow?

Thu Sep 07, 2006 11:06 pm

Does anyone know where the Royal Suite is located at Heathrow?

Do all the Royal Family use it? Even Prince William & Harry?

Also, does anyone know when it was built?

The royal suite at LHR is on the approach road to Terminal 4.

It is used by dignataries like the Sultan of Brunei when HE arrives on his 747 or two. Other Head of State and Royalty use it as well. It is for super VIP's as well as the Winsors.

Windsors, not Winsors. Just a typing error I'm sure.

Are Prince William & Prince Harry allowed to use it with their girlfriends and friends?

British royalty tends to use Northolt, except if they are using a BA triple.

He means B777.
Most Royal flights leave from Northolt, an RAF airfield about 10 miles North of LHR. But when they go long haul they usually charter a BA B777 and leave from LHR. (The runway at Northolt is too short)
The Royal suite is on the south side between T4 and the BA World Cargo centre.

Hey,

On the actual airfield it's located between stands 456 and 601, and has two stands of its own, RS1 and RS2 next to taxiway W.

The red dot indicates where the suite is located.

I believe the Royal Suite was built around 1991. The suite itself is not continually open, and, as the name suggests, it is used for royalty and visiting heads of state.
From the construction site that is better-known as London Heathrow Airport

The Royal Suite is often featured on BBC's Airport. The other week on Airport a Canadian Air Force A310 was there to pick up the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh

Isn't the "Royal Suite" named the "Spelthorne Suite" at LHR?

No, they have the "Hounslow Suite", the "Spelthorne Suite" and the "Hillingdon Suite" all located in different terminals. These are used for Royalty, diplomats and politicians who are travelling on regular passenger services, yet still require the extra "treatment".

The Royal suite is used when Heads of State/Politicians/Royalty etc arrive with their own private a/c.
