Connecting In Doha

Fri Sep 08, 2006 8:30 am

Qatar Airways happens to be doing the cheapest one-way ticket on LHR-SIN during the xmas period, some US$180 cheaper than its nearest rival. I have two options, the earlier flight leaves me with some 5 hours to burn in Doha before my connection. The later flight gives me just 1hr 5mins exactly. Is it possible to make a 1 hour connection in Doha?

1 Hour in Doha is more than enough. It is small airport but thank god not so overcrowded anymore. If you opt for the long transit get yourself a voucher for the Oryx lounge which is appr. 16 euro.

Hope this helps.

DOH has only 10 gates (atleast till last year) & its very easy to connect. they bus their pax to the terminal on arrival, you go through security - which doesnt take long & then you are in the departure area & back to the bus for boarding.

the last time i was there it was very crowded with people on the floor.
you can go to oryx lounge & pay straight on arrival there. the impression i had from their website was that you had to prebook the lounge. but thats only if you are booking their meet & greet service - Al Maha.

my mom loves DOH when shes flying alone as she doesnt have to worry about short connection times or long walks till the gate or being in the wrong terminal.

It's a very user-friendly airport, and you won't need to change money, even for a coffee.

Since the upperfloor is extended and offers a lot of space I guess it is where they send those " floorsiiting" people. It is always good to prebook the lounge as it might be full and they won´t let you in.

Anyway Doha is improving but still a loing way to go IMO.  Smile
