Easyjet Ex-Basel BSL Question

Fri Sep 08, 2006 7:08 pm

Tach Kameraden, Hi there!

Does anyone from Basel know if this Handbagge regulation from Easyjet's site is still valid:

Basel-Mulhouse: No hand baggage is currently allowed onboard aircraft, and passengers are not allowed to carry liquids (this includes goods bought from shops in the departure area) if travelling to UK destinations only.

Is child and infant food allowed or not as hand baggage?
Are Handys allowed?

Thanks, danke und Gruss

And no - I've not got a reply from Easyjet...

I don't know but it sounds strange. If hand baggage is not allowed then easyJet will check it in for you before you go through security. If security wants to take away the baby food then you should speak up there. In what world are we living in??  Sad Mobile phone should not be a problem either.

All I can say is that security is made by the French. That said it can go from over-strict to complete lazyness.

Last time I went through with a knife:

Officer: Can you please open your bag?
RJ100: Sure  Wink
Officer: Do you have a knife in here?
RJ100: Yes  Wink
Officer Can you show it to me please?
RJ100: Yes sure  Wink
Officer: OMG, ok, have a good flight.

Enjoy your flight.

Just found the following:

"No liquids of any type are permitted through the airport security search point, other than the following items:

-Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient and essential for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), as long as verified as authentic
-Baby milk and liquid baby food (the contents of each bottle or jar must be tasted by the accompanying passenger)."

And:

Normalbetrieb

Thanks RJ100 - in fact, the Easyjet website has just been updated and it's "business as usual" at Basel again.

http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/business_as_usual_18_aug_06.html

...
From Switzerland:
One piece of hand baggage per passenger with maximum dimensions of 50x40x20cm
...

I got confused over your knife - were you really travelling with one?!

Cheers
