CSA New Business Class

Sat Sep 09, 2006 12:30 am

Apologies if this has been discussed, but I wasn't able to find anything. In June of this year, Czech Airlines announced a much-needed upgrade to their long-haul (i.e., A310) business class product: http://www.csanews.cz/en/news/news_tz_data/news_2006_19_6.htm

I was wondering if anyone has any further information or updates on this project. The reason I ask is that I am due to fly PRG-JFK in late October, and the seat map for my flight on checkmytrip.com currently shows 2-2-2 seating (as opposed to the dreaded 2-3-2, as it has been in the past). Is this because the new seats will have been installed by then, or do they simply block the middle seat?

You´re right, it´s because there is only two seats in the middle...I flew in November 2005 last time PRG-NYC and we has been seated to this middle seats in A310 C class...there is no 2-3-2, but 2-2-2...

When will CSA replace the A310s? This business class upgrade is great news, and CSA's A310 have a reputation of being very comfortable. But with the addition of the A320/A321's, I would have thought that CSA would be considering the A332 or A350 soon.

It´s something, what nobody knows at this time....our management is still deciding about it...there was some thinking not to replace A310s and not continue in long haul destinations...But it was only one of more variations...

wow, sounds like Malev.
CSA is a great airline, I hope they won't back out of long-haul ops. Out of LO, MA and OK; LO seems to be the only one that his expanding it's long-haul ops and fleet.

Me too, I hope we´ll continue in long haul service. There are some plans, but it´s still in progress, depends to so many factors. So, lets wait and see Wink

Thanks, Yirina! I am looking forward to my flights.

I also hope that CSA continues its long-haul service--it seems like PRG has a lot of potential as a hub for central Europe. It would be great to see an order for a few 787s to replace the A310s in due course--the A350-800 might be a bit large, but the size of the 787-8 would seem very well suited to OK's intercontinental routes.

They'll get new long-haul jets when they start making monies, start focusing on business, get privatized (to avoid the political appoitnment of CEOs as the previous one, Mr. Tvrdik).

They are a very nice airline. I always enjoy flying CSA. But if they keep losing money at the current rate they will not be here in 3-4 years.

According to Airliner World Global Airline guide part II, it says OK will replace the A310 with A330 and A350 models. Can anyone who works for OK confirm this?
