There are heaps of probs it seems with the QF 744 fleet maintaining schedule integrity at present - also note QF12 cancelled out of LAX Saturday.

The QF2 has been impacted as a result of the late arrival of QF29 at Heathrow - its now due to arrive SYD 1430 Monday (9 hours late).

I posted on this last week, and I still wonder if this is still due to lack of -400 airframes available for service?

Cheers,

The difficulty of MEL-LHR nonstop is equal to the difficulty of SYD-LHR nonstop. The premium demand is also about the same. If QF were someday to introduce nonstop service to LHR, the rotation would probably be SYD-LHR-MEL-LHR-SYD. That would be a five day rotation with most of a day for line maintenance.

I hope even, LHR-SYD nonstop would happen. IF stopping westward is neccesary don't let that stop eastward nonstop flights.

When PAN AM first operated the 747SP nonstop from the USA to Sydney, it was only nonstop eastward, SYD-LAX. To Aussie they stopped in Honolulu, after PA fine tuned the airplane they flew nonstop both ways. Now we all take it for granted since it nonstop to LAX for everyone.
