I think that there are a few other threads on the 9/11 floating around here aswell, however none of them are too much. My thoughts today will be about that day 5 years ago, the people lost and how it affected me and what we learned and should have learned from it.

May all that pain and suffering not have been in vain.

AA flight 77 you mean.

Eventhough I was a UA employee, I agree with you BMIFlyer, UA ought not be singled out. We lost co-workers and passengers that day.

People came to us and depended on us to get them to where they were going safely and we failed. We as a community were used in a most disgusting manner.

I will never forget, I can't forget the day is seared in my brain.

I for one will never forgive those who did this or those who took pleasure from it being done as so many in the Middle East did that day.

For an interesting read try looking up the post from Septerber 11th. I took me several years before I could, but it was very interesting and vividly brought back a lot of memories.

Hard to believe it's been 5 years already. For those of us in the industry, it was (and still is on some levels) very gut wrenching. I was in DEN a year later, and a lady picked for secondary screening was hassling the United gate agent. He told her he was 60 years old and had been with United for over 30 years. The event of 9/11 made him bawl like a baby and he didn't want to see that happen again. I don't think I'll ever forget that.
