Havana Non-aligned Summit And Visiting Aircraft

Tue Sep 12, 2006 4:40 am

What are the international visitors for this summit in La Habana?

I assume they'll all be landing at HAV/MUHA (Jose Marti).

Which of those are flying to the New York UN assembly right after this? If anyone knows any stops or any departure schedules post them here.

Discussed here.....
RE: Asian Carriers Visiting Cuba Next Month (by DEVILFISH Aug 23 2006 in Civil Aviation)#ID2952097

IINM, PR will be flying first to Finland, then London and Havana, after which it will fly to Hawaii - before the flight back home to RP. It was due to leave RP last Saturday.

Devilfish, I'm not able to reply to that thread anymore for some reason.

Anyone in Cuba or who knows what airlines are there for the summit?

I'd like to know which of those will be coming to JFK for the UN summit next week.

Any remote chance Kim Jong will be in NY bringing an Illushin or Tupolev?

Looks like a Thai 346 from LGW, Pakistan 310 from BOS, Garuda 333 from MAD, and Ethiopan 763 from LIS landed there today as per Flytecomm.

The Indian PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh, flew down in a chartered AI 744.....I believe he first attended an India-S.Africa-Brazil summit in Brasilia, Brazil, and then flew to Cuba....I think he is going straight back to India thereafter.....

Isn't even one of the three BBJs on order delivered yet? But the trip distance and the size of the party could have influenced the choice of a/c.

Just wanted to add that PR sent its A343.

Can somebody tell me how this affects PR's schedule, by chartering an A340 to the Government?

Not sure....but I don't think so.....the great 'Indian Aviation Thread' on this forum would have mentioned it if they had arrived.....  Big grin

Someone saw on the news Ahmedinejad stepping off a 707 with an old school "cheatline", so that must mean Saha Air. If so why would they also bring an Iran Air plane?

I would guess Air Zimbabwe -is that airline still flying? I heard they were banned from LGW like a year ago or so. That Air Zimbabwe 767 is one gorgeous airplane visually speaking.

I just assumed because Iranian leaders only use Iran Air 747SP for their official tours.

Interesting lineup of aircraft. I just wonder what the Croatian president came with... I'd think that taking the gov't Challenger would be stretching it too far...
