I saw the plane taxi right past me at work today. In fact, I boarded up a CRJ on its way from IAD-EWR, we ended up having to delay the flight on a 40 minute gate hold because of the Elian departure, and the flight ended up cancelling after this gate hold thing, pretty much screwing up the rest of my day. At least, I got a photo of the plane with the kid in it as it taxiied (fast) past the gate. There also seemed to be a US registered Learjet right behind Elian's jet, probably tightly following the plane to Cuba.

Isn't that amazing. They hold up all the other flights just for that one little boy, his father, and some friends...

No need to say "Communist Cuba" such as a very bad
country...I'm more revolted to hear USA kills innocents
on electrical chair for electoral propaganda than hearing a little boy go back in his country; is it a crime to live
with parents in Cuba or maybe USA is a better place
with that "Cuban lobby" ?? Please leave your political matters outside the forum....thanks

uhmmmm...that Bush Jr who use death penalty even
when the alleged criminals are only convicted of a
crime by a unique witness, execute mental disorder
people, and so on...no need to say death penalty is
an item on the American electoral race agenda !!

Maybe the word "propaganda" is too far..let's say
for "electoral purposes" !!

take care,

800LL is a Hawker 800a, Raytheon Travel Air is the company. I'm not allowed to tell you who has a share in the aircraft, for privacy reasons; but it is a timeshare so no one person uses it exclusively.

I thought it looked like some kind of Cessna Citation. That wouldn't be surprising, considering that Cessna's Citation family is the best selling family of biz-jets in the world. My question is, who paid for it? Not the American taxpayer, I hope. Oh wait, we've shelled out some $40 million, is it, to investigate Clinton. Sorry to bring politics into this forum.

I thought the DOJ paid for the jet...

When you think about it though, we [taxpayers] pay a small price for all of these "expensive" things. If the Elian saga came to a total of $25 million, each person would have to pay less than 10 cents!

I Saw It In Aruba!

Wed Jul 05, 2000 12:48 am

I was down in Aruba for vacation last week and when i was spotting outside the airport I swear I saw the exact plane. The registration numbers matched and the aircraft was the same. The date was June 29th, 2000. Thanks!

Hey smart math Fly777ual: 250million times x = 25 million. Damn your pretty good! The point isn't that its small, but thats it being paid.

Anyway, still does anyone know who paid for the flight? Was it the DOJ? One more thing, in the above, it wsa said the plane was leased, doesn't the US gov. have enough planes of its own on property to avoid the cost of rental?

I got the photo developed. As he taxied past the "T" gates at IAD, I scrambled to take a photo. Well it turned out, and it actually turned out better than I expected. It has some blurs, but the reg is still very much readable. I'll try to scan it, and see if Johan accepts it. It was taxiing by pretty damn fast, so it was really tough to get a decent photo through a slightly tinted window. Again, I will try to submit it.
