I just flew through there today and I wish I had checked here before hand as I would have asked. I'm assuming it is for the same reason TSA
isn't allowing non-ticketed passengers through the checkpoints. The less amount of customers that you have to watch, the easier it is to watch them and the easier it is to spot those who are thinking about causing problems.
I fly through JFK
tomorrow on my way up to BUF
, and if I arrive into the trailer park (not very likely) I will try and ask. We joke about it, internally by calling it a trailer park (essentially it's a bunch on modular homes) but in all reality it is very nice, Spacious and plenty of seating. I really don't care for it as it looks like the waiting room of a mental institution (some place I may end up
) and hence why I bid to avoid JFK
I was actually thinking about this very thing as I made my way back over to the temp gates from the main terminal. There was a larger man checking tickets, but as you boarded the bus to head over, there was this real petite young lady watching customers board, now how is she going to stop a bunch of guys that go tearing across the tarmack? Hopefully that won't ever happen, but it's food for thought.
