BA's Impressive Service For Executive Members

A week ago I had to fly BA DXB-LHR and LHR-YYZ for my trip back to canada. Our BA flight in DXB was about three hours late due to morning fog because of which I missed my flight connection in LHR and had to take a second flight to YYZ a few hours later. Today when I checked my executive club account I found that instead of the regular 880 miles which I get for LHR-YYZ, BA gave me 3600 miles and 60 tier miles on my trip. I am guessing this is because of the flight delay I faced in dubai and my missed connection in LHR, does anyone know if this is a standard procedure with BA or am I just lucky?

You were probably rebooked in full-fare Y class for the flight you were reaccomodated on - such fares earn full mileage not 25% mileage.
